Eikon manufacturer of icons and religious objects promotor, participated between 30 March- 31 March at the Fair of Church Objects in Bacău, in Plaza center, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bacău and the Archiepiscopate of Roman and Bacău. At this event, organized for the first time in Bacău Municipality, there were present many companies from the country and abroad, specialized in producing and selling of icones and religious cult objects.
The fair was inaugurated in the presence of local authorities and in the presence of His Holiness- Archbishop- Vicar Ioachim Băcăoanul, Vicar of the Archiepiscopate of Roman and Bacău, who explained the role of the Orthodox Church Mission in a Fair of Icons and religious cult objects; “For the first time, the Church is participatingto such exhibitions. I mean by this, you should understand that it is extending its mission, beyond the walls. In other words, in one way or another, the icon, the holy book are available on the public market.
For some it seems something not quite appropriately, but I think it is appropriate, because the Church belongs to the people, and the people are the Church, and any positive action is blessed.” Eikon Company exhibited a wide range of icons applied on pale, in wooden frames or silver with different representations of the Virgin, Saints, Feasts and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
At the stand of the company, one could admire the beautiful religious golded and silver objects, the chandeliers cast from massive bronze, the pectoral golden crosses or from massive silver, manufactured in filigree, silver framed icons and maufactured with silver with semiprecious stones, painted icons, painted icons on massive wood with sleepers in the tradition of the old Byzantine masters and other religious qualitative cult objects.
